いすゞがフィリピンタクロバンで行っている自動車整備士養成学校（TESDA）への支援活動（Isuzu Heart & Smile Project*）が、2023年11月に15周年を迎えました。
20期生の卒業式と合わせて開催された15周年記念式典では、参加者がこれまでの取り組みの意義を再確認し、今後のプロジェクトへの期待を語りました。
*Isuzu Heart & Smile Project（IHSP)
いすゞは、2008年から、フィリピン レイテ島タクロバン市のフィリピン労働雇用省技術教育技能開発庁(TESDA)において、経済的に恵まれない若者を対象とした自動車整備士養成学校に対する教育支援活動を行っています。
この取り組みは自動車整備技術をフィリピンの若者たちに教えることで就労支援、経済的自立を支え、フィリピンの発展に寄与するだけでなく、日本の確かな技術を持った人材が世界のいすゞで活躍することで、会社の成長の一助になっています。
November 2023 marked the 15th anniversary of Isuzu’s support of TESDA Automobile Mechanics Vocational School in Tacloban City on the island of Leyte in the Philippines.
The 15-year milestone was celebrated along with a graduation ceremony. Participants reflected on the positive impact of IHSP* and shared their expectations of the project going forward.
*Isuzu Heart & Smile Project（IHSP)
IHSP has been providing opportunities for economically disadvantaged youth to become automotive mechanics at the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in Tacloban, Leyte, Philippines since 2008.
This project not only contributes to the development of the Philippines by teaching Japanese automotive maintenance skills to young Filipinos, thereby supporting their employment and economic independence, but also helps the company thrive by having people with certified skills work in Isuzu around the world.
