It owned the special stages and won the German rally championship in 1974: The Irmscher Opel Ascona A Rally. Now it is back on the road in all its glory.
Hunkered down, bold and boxy. The Irmscher Opel Ascona A Rally is a true eye-catcher. The distinctive yellow and green paint-job adds to the occasion, too. Built to Group II – or Spezialtourenwagen – regulations, the Irmscher-built Opel Ascona was special in every way. Its ravishing carburetted 2.0-liter four-cylinder produced over 200 horsepower and powered Lars Carlsson and Peter Petersen to three wins and a second place en route to winning the championship. Now Irmscher has restored the car from nut to bolt, but words simply cannot do it justice, so sit back and enjoy!
