[Me and Honda] #0054 Carrying a new mother’s dreams | 彼女の夢を乗せて。

“Since I was a child, I’ve loved painting and artsy things. So, this is kinda my dream car.”

In 2018, Chihiro won the “#NVan Dream contest” for best car customization idea. Her prize: a one-of-a-kind customized N-Van.

Chihiro continued to follow her passion, creating illustrations and designs, even after she started to work.
When pregnant with her first child, she resolved to be a mother, but still be involved in art and the community.
That is where her idea came from for the contest. She suggested turning an N-Van into an ART STAND.

Chihiro simply loads the van with art supplies. Then, wherever she happens to be is her atelier.
She used to spend a lot of time at home working and parenting, but winning the contest meant she now has a valuable partner to take her out into the world.

“I heard that I won the day before my due date. So much was happening. It felt like a dream. Winning meant that I would be able to continue my art, only now as a working mom with a new partner, the N-Van.”

Staying involved with art as a mother has been an important part of Chihiro’s identity.

2018年にN-VANカスタマイズアイディア企画「#NVAN_Dream」に当選し、世界で一台のカスタマイズN-VANを手に入れたちひろさん。
会社員として働きながら、大好きなイラストやデザインをずっと続けてきた彼女。
第一子の妊娠中に「母親になっても、アートを通じて社会とつながっていたい」という想いを込めて応募したアイディアが、
芸術・美術の屋台「ART STAND」だった。画材を積んで出かければ、どんな場所もアトリエに。
仕事でも子育てでも家にいることが多くなりがちなちひろさんを、外の世界へと連れ出してくれる、大切な相棒が誕生した。
「当選の連絡をいただいたのは、出産予定日前日だったんです。
いろんなことがめまぐるしく起きてなんだか夢心地でしたが、
細々と続けてきたアート活動を、 N-VANと一緒に今度は働くママとして続けていきたいです」
ママになっても、アートはちひろさんの大切なアイデンティティ。
彼女の大切なものを乗せて、世界で一つのN-VANは今日はどこを走っているのだろう？
