A monochrome blue helmet was too commonplace for Hans-Joachim Stuck before his first race as a factory driver in 1971. So his girlfriend cut white stars from foil and glued them onto his helmet. They promptly became the Bavarian driver’s trademark. Also at Le Mans in 1987
in the victorious Porsche 962 C. Stuck’s magnificent performance on that rainy night laid the groundwork for the Porsche to win the race.
