The satisfying echo of a shutter snapped amidst the great outdoors. This is Sam, who was born and raised in Rhode Island. He has lived in Colorado, Utah, New York, and Beijing. Currently, he resides in Los Angeles with his girlfriend who is a stylist.
“Cars with manual transmissions are similar to manually operated cameras, both allow you to be in control,” said Sam who drives a manual silver-colored FIT.
He bought it in 2008. “It’s compact and great on fuel. However, it can also fit tons of passengers and stuff.”
Over the last ten years, he has crossed the US four times in his FIT. He also uses it on the weekends to visit the beach or go on trips. Whether there is snow, rain, mud, or any other adverse conditions, the FIT has stood up to them all. The car’s tough body is the perfect partner for all of Sam’s needs.
“I didn’t think I would be with this car for so long. Over the past ten years, we’ve had some great adventures together. We’ve visited many places and seen tons of interesting stuff. I want to continue looking for things we haven’t seen yet together.”

「マニュアル車とカメラは似ているよね。車でもカメラでも、自分でコントロールしている感があるんだ」
彼が乗っているのは銀色のマニュアルFIT。購入したのは2008年のことだ。
「燃費がよくてコンパクトだけど、人も物もたくさん積めるからね」
10年の間にアメリカ横断を4回して、週末はビーチに行ったり旅行に出かけたり。雪、雨、雷、土、泥…どんなコンディションにも耐えてきたFIT。ワイルドなボディは、ほかでもないSamの相棒である証のようにも見えた。
「こんなに一緒にいるとは思っていなかったよ。この10年、僕らは素晴らしい冒険を共にし、たくさんの場所へ行き面白いものをたくさん見てきたんだ。これからも一緒に“まだ見ぬ何か”を探しに行きたいね」
