Michigan Assembly Plant—where the Bronco and the Ranger are produced—was one of the first plants in the Ford system to implement the “team concept”: rotating jobs on a daily basis (sometimes even hourly) to make sure the team stays fresh and uninjured. In this video, we shadow David Jenkins who works on the line here in the Body and Stamping Department in Wayne, Michigan, as he attends a local Town Hall with Jim Farley. As Farley says during this event, “I don’t think there’s better money we can invest than in our own people.”
As Ford Motor Company undergoes the biggest transformation in its 120 year history, Ford CEO Jim Farley is visiting Ford factories and assembly plants around the world to meet with teams and discuss the opportunities for improvement and growth. “From the Floor” captures some of their unique stories.
