Pikes Peak: A familiar name returns to the mountain

Racer and Pikes Peak rookie Loni Unser and her team have an uphill battle in more ways than one to make it to the grid for the 100th running of the Pikes Peak International Hillclimb. Though she qualified in a promising second position in the Porsche Pikes Peak Trophy by Yokohama division, while pushing hard she had an off-track excursion during practice which saw her Cayman GT4 Clubsport take damage – happily, Loni was uninjured. Join Loni as she tells of her battle against time and the elements.

The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb and the Unser family have a long history together. Louis, Joe, Bobby, Al Senior, Al Junior, Robb, and now Loni Unser have entered this prestigious event that takes brave drivers up a precarious mountain road in Colorado to the top of Pikes Peak, 4,302 metres (14,115 feet) above sea level.
