New Opel Astra: World Premiere. A new Blitz is born!

Designed, developed, built and launched in Rüsselsheim, at the heart of Opel! The new Opel Astra is
presented to the world.

A new era begins with a new Blitz. The sixth generation Opel Astra is made to challenge conventions: it
represents our bold and pure take on the future of hatchbacks. New Opel CEO, Uwe Hochgeschurtz,
kicked-off the event by introducing the new Astra and its remarkable credentials as our first electrified
compact. Opel shows that the Astra is ready to define a new era. The next generation of the best seller
features surfaces detoxed of superfluous elements. With the new brand face Opel Vizor as well as the
latest version of the fully digital Pure Panel cockpit, Mark Adams (Opel Vice President Design) takes a
deep dive into German design and a new interpretation of the bold and pure design philosophy.

Also developed and manufactured in Rüsselshem, Germany, the new Astra portfolio has something for
everyone in terms of drive alternatives – it is the first Opel that will soon offer the choice between pure
electric drive, plug-in hybrid or combustion engine. The new Astra is just the latest Opel highlight, watch
