Porsche x Mercedes-Benz: 30 Years of the 500 E – Part 1

Winning first impressions at the 1990 Paris Motor Show and its sale in spring 2021 – we celebrate the 30th birthday of the Mercedes-Benz 500 E/E 500 fast touring saloon; the result of a successful cooperation project between Porsche and the then Daimler-Benz AG.

To mark the occasion, Porsche Museum sent two people who witnessed it all to look back at how it was developed. Michael Hölscher and Michael Mönig from Project Manager Development and Prototype Management last sat in the 500 E almost three decades ago, and now they embark on a journey to cover 100 kilometres.
